Background Information

The plaintiffs are alleging that the defendants had conspired to fix, maintain or stabilize prices for both tantalum and aluminum capacitors. These include tantalum capacitors and aluminum electrolytic capacitors (Capacitor Products) sold in the United States. Capacitors are passive electronic components which are used to store electricity and release it on demand. Capacitors are incorporated into almost every electronic device, including audio/video equipment, telecommunication equipment, computers and automobile electronics.
